Hello

My name is Omar Wysong
My Story
I was born in Mexico and raised in the heart of the Midwest, where open skies and wide horizons first shaped my sense of wonder. At eighteen, I followed my dreams west to San Francisco, chasing the rhythm of wheels on pavement and the freedom of a professional skate career.
After seven incredible years on the board, life carried me to Los Angeles, where I found new ways to express motion — through acting in film, commercials, and theater. It was there I met the love of my life, started a family, and, quite by accident, discovered my next great passion: the art of welding metal sculpture.
What began as curiosity soon became devotion. Through countless hours of YouTube tutorials, trial, and error, I taught myself how to shape steel into something soulful. I started small — selling my work at local markets, swap meets, and nurseries around Southern California — and over the past twelve years, this humble beginning has grown into a lifelong pursuit.
My inspiration comes from the deserts of the American Southwest — vast, mystical landscapes where survival itself is art. I am drawn to the resilience of desert plants and creatures, to the quiet beauty that thrives against all odds. The colors, the sounds, the stillness — the desert speaks to me like no other place on earth.
In my work, I explore the delicate balance between the natural and the industrial — blending rust with color, steel with soul, the organic with the manmade. Each piece is entirely handmade — cut, bent, painted, and patinaed by my own hands. No two pieces are ever the same; every sculpture carries its own spirit, its own story.
I invite you to explore my collection and find a piece that speaks to you — something that brings a touch of the desert’s calm, its mystery, and its enduring strength into your own space.
Create your oasis. And thank you for visiting.
